Benjamin Jabbawy

Ben Jabbawy is currently an associate at GreatPoint Ventures, focusing on business development and operations for early stage cleantech and biotech portfolio companies. Previously, Ben worked as an analyst at GreatPoint Energy, a venture-backed natural resource company, producing natural gas from coal through a proprietary technology called hydromethanation. Ben has held positions at UBS Financial Services and Lux Research, a global market research firm focused on advanced technologies. While at Lux, he co-authored The Nanotech Report, a widely distributed reference guide for Fortune 500 companies and corporate investors. Ben received a B.S. in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University.

Amitha Kurmala

Amitha is currently a Junior majoring in Operations Research and Information Engineering at Cornell University. She is from Bridgewater, New Jersey, appreciates full service and cheap gas more than ever. In high school, she competed in Science Olympiad and Future Business Leaders of America, placing at the state and region-wide competitions respectively. In college, she competes on the Speech team, and currently is the Public Address Chair. She has been very involved in SWE for the past few years and recommends the organization to anyone wishing to develop a career in engineering. She loves to travel, having gone to many of the popular European countries such as France, England, and Germany- speaking German almost fluently- but still wishes to go to Italy someday! In her spare time, she enjoys playing basketball and tennis, listening to music with friends, and watching Roger Federer!
